Custom bay window treatments in Sherbrooke. Curtains for bow windows and bay windows, curved tracks, artisan-crafted by couturière in Estrie.
The bay window is one of the most elegant architectural features of a home, and one of the most complex to dress. At Rideaux Nalia, we master the construction techniques needed to create treatments that perfectly follow the curve of your bay window, whether it's a classic bow window or a rectangular three-section bay.
We work with custom curved tracks that follow the exact angle of your bay, allowing curtains to glide harmoniously along the full length. Linen, velvet or sheer, we select the ideal fabric based on your window's orientation, desired light level, and decor. For the large bay windows of Magog and Estrie chalets, we create ensembles that magnify the view while offering privacy and light control.
The bay windows of Sherbrooke's Victorian homes, the bow windows of Magog's prestige residences: every project is unique and demands an artisanal approach. Nalia takes precise measurements, draws hand sketches to visualize the final result, and crafts each panel in our atelier. A complete custom service from A to Z for an impeccable result.
A bay window is not one large window. It is three windows that are not in the same plane. The difficulty is not the width, it is the two corners. A curtain has to cross them without binding, and the fabric has to hang straight on all three faces despite the break.
Two approaches. A bent track, formed to the actual angle of your bay, letting one panel travel end to end. Or three independent pieces, one per face, operated separately. The bent track is more elegant and more expensive. Three pieces are simpler and often more practical day to day.
Very common in Sherbrooke houses: a baseboard heater or radiator running under the bay. A curtain falling in front of it traps heat against the glass and sends it outside. In that case the curtain stops at the sill, or we allow enough clearance for air to move.
