Living Room Window Treatments

Custom window treatments for living rooms in Sherbrooke, Magog and Estrie. Linen curtains, sheers and wave fold panels handcrafted by our artisan couturière.

Curtains and sheers for your living room

The living room is the centerpiece of your home, where you entertain, relax, and where the light must be just right. At Rideaux Nalia, we handcraft custom window treatments that transform your living room into a space that is both bright and intimate. Our natural linen curtains, custom sheers, and wave fold panels adapt to the exact configuration of your windows.

Whether you have large panoramic windows in a Magog chalet or a contemporary living room in Sherbrooke, we work with premium fabrics (linen, velvet, silk) to create window treatments that reflect your style. Every piece is handcrafted in our Plateau St-Joseph atelier, with haute couture finishing details.

Our clients across Estrie choose us for our direct approach: Nalia is your sole contact, from initial consultation to installation guidance. Blackout curtains for light control, sheers for daytime filtering, or Flemish pleats for a classic look. We have the custom solution for your living room.

The living room is where mounting height shows most

It is usually the largest window in the house and the tallest room. Mounting the rod at ceiling height rather than on the frame changes how the volume reads immediately, and it is the cheapest intervention in window dressing.

Width matters just as much. A rod extending 20 to 30 centimetres past the frame on each side lets open panels stack on the wall instead of over the glass. That is what makes a living room feel bright with the curtains open, and it is exactly what ready-made sizing cannot do.

Problems specific to a living room

  • Screen glare late in the day, which calls for a filtering fabric rather than a blackout.
  • The patio door, which has to stay usable and whose curtain must stack fully to one side.
  • Cold near a large pane in winter, where a thermal lining does real work.
  • The layered pair, sheer by day and heavy curtain by night, which needs a double rod.

What we look at during the consultation

We measure the height available to the ceiling, the wall depth for brackets, and locate obstacles: baseboard heaters, mouldings, electrical boxes. On a wide span a centre support is needed, otherwise the rod bows under the weight of a lined curtain.

A photo of the room taken late in the afternoon, texted to 873 200-4056, shows the light problem better than any description.

Your living room deserves window treatments worthy of your most precious moments.
